I wonder if anyone can help me identify a razor that I have been using. I'm the third generation on this particular blade. I inherited it from my father (I'm 57) and he received it from an old friend of my grandmother's.

The razor has tortise shell (real not faux) scales. The only writing on the blade are the words "German" on the shank of the blade and " '98" on the tang.

I've been using this blade in my rotation for years. It's well worn and to add angle on the edge, I've attached a strip of duct tape to the back.

By the way, it shaves extremely well.
