Default Where to buy? Do we have a vendors list?

I swear I checked every link.. I found the Vendors Corner, but that seems to not be too current.

I am looking for straight razor number two so I can have a second in rotation. I checked EVERY item on SRD and the ones I find visually appealing are all out of stock. Nothing in the Classified fits my bill either. The auction sites are a crap-shoot and hanging around for an auction to end is bothersome.

I am looking for a clean shave ready.. 6/8 - 7/8, shoulderless sway back with a barbers notch and a gentle smile. I have a full hollow so something other than that would be great, just for variety. Would love a satin finish, and a long tang. Scale design is flexible. I don't like round or square points.

I am on a self-imposed budget, but that too is flexible and I am precariously close to pulling the trigger and have a custom made. (The SRP R. Williams Logo blade is pretty much exactly what I am looking for.)

So what are the other reliable sources before I have a razor made?

You are correct, you described the SRP Logo razor. Put in your order, you will get it in about 5-6 months, enough time to continue saving for the purchase. It is an excellent razor, once you get the edge dialed in. It's also a hearty razor that you can take anywhere on your travels, from an overnighter to a backwoods backpacking trip.

I came to the same conclusion, but with a few razors out there that fit the bill, I figured I should look around before going full custom..

Something like a clean FBU would work, but shave ready, it seems the price is coming real close to a custom..

    I know.. Crazy.

I had a mental list of what I wanted and once I saw the SRP, it was.. POOF! That's the razor. It's the 5-6 month wait that doesn't work for me since i need a second razor now.

I am already in conversation with Robert and a few others for the custom. But I am looking for another daily shaver as well.

I guess I don't understand...will this custom NOT be a daily shaver? Or are you now looking for two more razors?

I'll warn you, once you get a really nice custom that fits your preference, it may not go into your rotation....it may become your SOLE shaver.

I have several very nice custom and semi-custom razors (I told myself I need them for rotation). Guess what, they all have dust on them except for one. When it starts getting blunt, I hone it for use the next day

No, the custom will indeed go in rotation. I am not looking to be a collector (I said that about DEs as well and you should only know how many I have now). But as you know, a custom can take some time and I am still quite new to straights and don't want to learn on a $500 razor.

I should be so lucky if the custom turns out to be the one and only.. How cool would that be?

Thanks... I have connected with a few of the artisans. I was looking for a reputable source for restores or new razors.
