Question Would this be a good deal?

Okay so I know a guy that has all these razors for sale (84 of them) he wants 1,000 bucks. Is it worth it? I ask for names but he said that he would not sit and look at all the names and write me what they where . he is old and Inpatient I guess. But what do y'all think?

One cannot tell the condition of them from the photo but at just under $12 each, pending what your plans are for them it could be well worth it.

Well it's hard to say. That works out at an average of $11.90 per razor. Whether that is worth it depends on the breakdown of good to poor to useless etc. However, given the prices on the kinds of rubbish that are being sold "as is" to newbs at the moment $11.90 is not excessive.

For $1000 I would at least expect him to take more photos of groups of razors if he hasn't already done that.

Having said that, the main photo seems to show working razors but it is very difficult to know. Sounds like you are going to have to either take a gamble or pass it up. That's your choice of course. What do you want with 84 "unknown" razors anyway?

If you are any good at resto work, you can make a killing here. Think like 10 razors @ $100 each. BINGO. Go for it...........!

For a reseller it might be a deal. For a collector it would depend on how long they've been at it. A new collector is like a basking shark, taking in whatever is in his path. A veteran collector has been to the big city and seen the elephant. It takes a lot more to get his juices flowing.

Part of the fun of collecting for me, is cherry picking desired pieces. Than there is the $s. If you have a thousand dollars to throw around, and you will actually sell the culls to recoup, not procrastinate, maybe it is a deal. For me it is a non starter. When I look at a razor nowadays I have to ask myself what it will add to what I already have. If it is just 'action' , I pass. It has to be a significant addition or something I just really like the look of.

With time I have learned that usually when people say no chips and light rust, it is not what they mean.
Not saying those razors are like that but something to have in mind.
