Chris has been using steels that are somewhat rich in vanadium carbides. Great for knives, and I have heard of some good Williams razors made from S30V, but I would not have guessed it would be a good razor steel (or Chris's latest choice (S35Vn)). Wow, nested parentheses!

There are some great new steels being tested though...keep your ear to the ground if you are interested in this sort of thing. I think stainless steel is going to be on the rise
