    I suppose you could get an expert to appraise a straight razor collection. Robert A. Doyle, author of "Straight Razor Collecting" comes to mind. He is a long, long time collector and an antique dealer and auctioneer. IIRC he is in Albany. I usually get an idea from ebay completed listings, watching what people are paying in the classifieds .
