This is some very good research information. You guys are good. Thanks for your interest and your contributions. Many of us are very appreciative of this information. I am into Pennsylvania razors of the Genco tribe from Bradford PA. Thanks for being "research dudes".

[QUOTE=Martin103;1165478]Here an old advertisement with a bunch of different King Razor.

I've been using this as a check list. Keep your eyes peeled for a list with photos.

I was doing a little research tonight...please correct me if I'm wrong.

From what I understand King Razor Mfg. Idiana PA was in operation in the early 1900s into the teens. From the price list shown above, their top of the line razor was about $5.00. Based on a currency conversion online I found that $5.00 in 1915 equals roughly $115.00 in 2014. In 1915 the average household income was something like $650.00 which is about $15,000.00 dollars today. The dollar amounts on the King price list sound crazy cheap to us today but they were a pretty penny to most people at the time. It's cool to think about guys like us dreaming of high end razors way back when... Don't ya think?

Funny seeing this thread since I was digging through a box of razors and found a King's Extra Good that has been sitting there for awhile now. I remember setting it on top of the pile when I got it so I would work on it first, but seems to have been buried to the bottom. Maybe now I can remember to get around to messing with it. I hope.

Now that blade looks like it has a lot of potential. Good luck, and I would love to see some after pictures.

I've got an "Extra Good" too. I was also "produced" in Indiana PA, though more recently, so it's amazing to have a razor from my small-ish hometown . It was my second restoration, and is a fantastic blade.

It's been about a year and a half since I stared this thread and thanks to Martins checklist (pictured above) I can search for specific models by King Razor Mfg. co. Here's what I've come up with.
Left side top to bottom: #45, #99, Karbon King, Great Rex, Electro Finish, Tough Beard
Right Side: Barber Supply, Extra Good, Hair Tested, King Midas, Gold Man, Safe Mona 1913.

I've had 3 different King razors. Two King Midas - one faux tortoise that I sold on, and one with an unusual sort-of-Spanish tip with green marble scales which I still have.

The green King Midas is one of my best shavers. Lovely razors
