Default Feast Your Eyes; Dovo Fritz Bracht & Dorp-Voos 7 day set Vintage

Here is what I think is a rare find. I got this off of the bay a few years ago at what turned out to be a bargain considering the condition and the history. These razor are all identical Dovo model 25s with the exception of the reverse tang stamp being Fritz Bracht on 4 of them and Dorp-Voos on three.

Fritz bought the firm in 1939 so these may have been issued shortly thereafter. It is probably safe to assume that little or no production went to razors during the war years and probably for a few thereafter.

The Dovo logo inlaid on the scales is also the older one according to the dating chart. These have never touched skin or water and probably never will as long as I have them. Hope y'all enjoy the photos.

Beautiful razors, its a shame theyll not be used for their intended purpose. Is the box original to the set?

Jimmy, good show on the set. It is quite handsome. Now, if mine, I'd be up half the night planning the shave with that day's designated razor.

AFAIK it is. The box is typical of Solingen 7 day sets IME. I've got a couple of others, and had a few come and go. The wear on the outside would indicate to me that it is original, the fit of the razors inside. No logo though so I cannot be 100% sure.

Congratulations on that buy Jimmy. I admire your restraint in not using the set and your commitment to long term preservation. Of course you do have some very nice distractions in your rotation razors. : )

Oh, I will, my dear friend. I will use them. I don't sleep well already, so what's more sleep lost over these lovely shaving mermaids?
Jimmy, my good man, my birthday is June 29. I will be 27. Have been 27 for decades and am not budging. I think this lovely set will make a fine birthday gift. My address is . . .
