Cool First post - Tell me about this Wade & Butcher I just picked up!

Here are the photos. Had to hang it from the tree - wouldn't stand on it's scales!

I got it from a barber down the street. It looks like it's in great condition, and will be a nice companion to my Boker. I'm having trouble dating W & B though, so I'd love your thoughts. Also - should I just get a nice hone, or should I get some restore work done too?

It is very ugly, send it my way for proper disposal of.

On a more serious note it looks great and should shave great.

    Hello & Welcome.
The razor appears to be in great condition by the photos. I would only clean , polish & hone.

Spend some time in the Library section reading about hones. The library is a wealth of information, take you time & enjoy.

On the forum front page there is a link to beginners, read that too.

mmmm. The rare and endangered tree razor. Lurking quietly waiting for the hone ritual before the BBS shave...

Hello and welcome to SRP! Due to the fact that it has the word "England" stamped on the tang I would say it's definitely post 1891 so roughly late 1890's early 20th century.

Thanks for the links - I already found and read them both though. I'm wondering if there's a way to tell from the shape of the tang or something like that?
