What is your most "cherished" razor ?
I was asked this today. Not your best or sharpest or most expensive or rarest but most "cherished".
Mine is the first wakamisori I owned. http://straightrazorpalace.com/custo...-klean-up.html
It was acquired as a tryout but became a gift from someone who quickly became a friend. I cherish the friendship even more than the razor but tell us about your special razors. Gifts from loved ones . Family heirlooms or any razor/s with some special meaning to you.The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Thanked: 13246Hard question Ozmodoius
But I also have to go with my Japanese razors, those would be my absolute keepers, if I ever decided to drop the hobby aspect and just wanted to shave, I would keep my various Wa-Kamisori but these 2 in particular
Iwasaki
Unknown (Something Blah Blah special steel)
and these two
The King Pelican with the matching strop
The Diamond Hayashi #8000
It would be near impossible to narrow it down farther I would hate to have to give up any of these 4

Thanked: 44Don't have one yet. In talks about a custom to some designs of mine, so that might change, but nothing of sentimental value. Perhaps my Henkotsu because it's the only kamisori (or reasonably priced straight of any kind) I've ever found here in Taiwan and it was NOS when I got it.

The first one I bought: the TI Oak Wing G # 314, as seen here.
Lovely figured maple wood scales, and matching box, with a beautiful spine work on top of a clean and shiny 7/8 barber’s notch blade.
I bought it shortly after my son was born last year, with heirloom in mind. A perfect match considering my wife is french and I grew up surrounded by a maple forest.
Cheers.Last edited by Pi3; 06-05-2013 at 03:33 PM.
