Thanked: 0micarta handles vs flimsy plastic king cutter scales
The razor bug has bitten me, probably from the nicks from the King cutter.
I am looking at the brown 5/8 tree brand Boker for my 2nd razor for rotation but also I just want something better built scale wise, I do like my king cutter but the scales a very flimsy and squishy.
Whats the micarta handles like are they very strong and don't bend. I would go edelweiss but I hate that blade etching on that one but love the bone handle, dam the choices are unbearable .Last edited by msimon; 06-15-2013 at 08:08 PM.

You should never be holding the razor with the scales as a handle. Even when the scales pass back through your hand, you should be gripping the tang. Scales are to protect the edge when not in use.
See this page for correct gripsOne time, in band camp, I shaved with a Gold Dollar razor.
