Thank you, hajo, for posting the link to the video. Wacker makes fine razors. Even though I did not understand a word of what was said, it was still good to view Herr Wacker's work.

Hi,
thanks for your feedback.
Let me at least give you the IMHO main informative facts in very short form.
1: Mr. Wacker: For the best in man use a first class device to work on...
Moderator:
Solinger the town of blades... the workshops are driven by the river, a razor maker needs at least 10 years practice. But mid of 20th century the guild of razor makers died...
2: Mr. Wacker: originally he wants to retire with 63 becaue a razor maker gets less than a cleaner it was not profitable....
Moderator: James Bond Triggers a boom.... for real men! The very less remaining razor makers are now highly demanded....
3: Mr. Wacker: ... some call the razor "mystic" today....
Moderator: ... difference between carbon and inox steel... steel needs fine texture...hardening... Heribert Wacker has 60years experience... the most in Germany... also his father and grandfather have been razor makers... and also his son started...
4. Mr. Wacker explains hollow grinding... blade should not get too hot while grinding... Need water..
Moderator... razor blade difference to kitchen knife
5. (time 5:20) Mr. Wacker shows a "burned" blade... and tells they are sold somtimes but this should not happen.... and the blade should be scraped!
Moderator: explains "plisten" (=polishing). Mr. Wacker Junior is fixing the scale....
Wacker Junior: explains different scales... heavy materials are better for balance.....
Moderator: heade geometries... etc. a razor can "last" 2 generations...
Wacker Junior: explains advantage'/difference of grindings...
Moderator: ....
