    Default NOS Sta-Sharp straight razor

I just picked up this NOS Sta-Sharp razor, cracked ice scales and "fine chromized steel" blade. My initial test shave was yesterday. It has a different sound/feel than any of my other razors and I would have to say that it shaves better than any of my Dovos, Giesen & Forsthoffs, Thiers-Issard, Hen & Rooster, and the American made razor (I won't mention the name because it upsets one of the other members) that I own. It may be a match for the F.W. Engels, but I have not shaved with it enough to make an accurate comparison. Up until now I have purchased new razors thinking that modern metallurgy and production methods should be superior to the vintage razors. What a pleasant suprise to find I was wrong. I'm thinking that I should have started my collection with all vintage and then moved on to new. Sorry for the poor quality picture.Name: IMG.jpg

    What a beauty Paul
I love Sta-Sharps There my true weakness. Never meet one that didnt shave perfectly. And they are such a head turner as well.
    And yours is no exception.
You got yourself a killer shaver there.
    Enjoy

Very nice. Three pin cracked ice razors are a classic look.
One time, in band camp, I shaved with a Gold Dollar razor.

My StaSharp has "Distributed by Sears Roebuck and Company Chicago Illinois"

It does give an excellent and comfortable shave.

I was always reluctant to mention the quality of this blade fearing ridicule because it was from Sears. Thanks for showing your razor.

The cracked ice pattern is one of my favorites. That "old steel" comment is pretty funny, mainly because I thought the same thing. I picked up a nearly NOS Genco Easy Aces a few months back and I was amazed at the edge on that. My Dovo does pretty well, but it is inferior in my (never) humble opinion to the Easy Aces. Call me a patriot
