Smile F.W. Engels - my best shaving razor?

Recent purchase, may be my best shaving razor (so far tied with the Sta-Sharp) yet, certainly the nicest looking razor in my collection. Picture doesn't do it justice.Name: IMG_0001.jpg

Looks like a FWE 'Leader'. I've got a couple, as well as a Special and a couple of other models. The old barbers, back in the 1980s, told me to look out for FWE and dubl ducks. Those were their favorites.

I've only had the pleasure of honing one for a member. It was a Leader. 'Finest extra hollow shave I've ever had. That particular one is really handsome. 'Hope to come across one like it someday.

Oh yeah, I've got a 6/8 round toe FWE Leader and it is an awesome shaver. I even pulled it out earlier today, planning on taking it with me on a business trip this week.

FWE is a great razor. I have a Special, a "Hansel & Gretel" NOS and an 8/8 FWE roundpoint that has honed up beautifully.

I got two, a Hänsel und Gretel 5/8 and a Special 6/8, they are both superb.
Just yesterday evening I shaved with the 5/8 and now, some 12 hours later, I am still BBS.
I am also still looking for a mint condition 'Leader'.
    F.W.E.s are greats stuff.

I too have a F.W. Engels and it is a great straight razor. Great hollow and great steel. It certainly is one of my best shavers.

I found a coupler Leaders at a flea market today, but didn't know much about them. Sounds I better go back and snatch at least one of them up!
