    Default my new project

I've finally took the first step into the manly art of straight razor shaving! I picked up a razor at an antique store with hopes of restoring and eventually using it. is anyone familiar with the brand H. Schneider & co. (Germany)? The blade looks in good shape but the scale needs replaced. is it a good brand and worth my time and money ( I have less of the second than the first)

Welcome to SRP Tintin, Are you the Belgian reporter with the funny haircut? H. Schneider & co was a wholesale distributor from New York. More then likely a Solingen Germany razor made for them. Like most of these German razors made for hardware and barber supply's house this should be a good quality razor, post some pictures for more information on whether this razor is worth your efforts.

Thanks for the info. I've always admired Tintin's clean shaven look, do you think he uses a straight? anyway here's an image of the razor.

Size: 35.1 KB The blade is in excellent condition with no rust or chips. I was kind of worried that the reason it is in such good shape was that it wasn't used much because of the quality. the box is well used though.

The blade looks to be in good condition, definately restorable, as far as Tintin using a straight, i never saw him shave, but given his allure it is highly possible!
