When you get your edge sorted, I think you will love that razor

    Have fun !

Oh I already love the razor! The first shave was superb, I just think I jacked it up trying to strop it the first few times. I've been able to improve it some, but not enough to really shave with, It takes way too many passes now to be an affective razor.

It was shave ready from the store, I Bought it locally, they told me I needed stropping paste and so I bought that. After my first shave that was awesome, I stropped for the second shave and it was a lot less sharp. It is still sharp enough to cut into the side of my thumbs callus. I'm going to try to have Kelly look at it soon. Not gonna touch it till then. I don't want to mess it up more. I am thinking I may buy one of his strops too, the small dovo strop now has paste in it and since it is narrower than the blade may not be best for a beginner like me.

I wouldn't be surprised if you feel like you have a totally different razor after Kelly hones it. I may be stepping out on a limb but I wouldn't have a lot of confidence in the store as far as shave ready goes.

    +1 with Jimmy

TI and Dovo have both come a long way when it comes to shave ready from the factory in recent years, but they are both still barely touching the bottom rung of that ladder
I think you are going to see quite a difference in performance once Kelly gets with you

Well just met with Kelly (Nun2Sharp) yesterday. A Great experience. Would highly reccomend his services to anyone. I havn't had a chance to shave with it yet, but without cream, water or anything it shaved my arm with no effort at all. Im so fortunate to live so close to someone who can help me out from time to time with honing. Can't reccommend him enough. Thanks Kelly! bought an awesome strop from him as well. may have to have an evening shave tonight.

Wow! smoothest shave to date! Anyone who needs a honing should really talk to Kelly. Amazing how a truly sharp blade glides through without so much as a hint of razor irritation afterwords. i am even more sold on the straight razor after having it honed. Thanks again Kelly!
