    Default Now I know

My mother recently went on a vacation and when she came back she was all excited to tell me she had purchased a straight razor she found at one of the local shops. Since she doesn't know the first thing about them she enlisted the services of a gentleman also in the shop viewing the shop keepers items. The gentleman proceeded to steer her away from the "old rusty" razors he had and recommended 1 of the 2 Krieger razors in stock.

Long story short, my mom purchased one and the person helping her purchased the other.

I now have this useless piece of metal sitting in my basement and I don't have the heart to tell her that she was ripped off (I think she paid $45 US). Looking at it I can't believe how large the scales are!

I often wondered about the avoid list and if they were really as bad as they are made out to be....

    Now I know.

Generosity often has a bad track record. Its a shame to have such good intentions yield so little reward. But then again sometimes these demonstrations of affection are priceless in their own right. Shave with something else, maintain that it is a wonderful razor, and carry on the white lie that its now your favorite.

If you don't actually pick one up and view it from a small distance, they look like a nice razor. I will have to find a use for it, most likely by mounting it in the shave den.

For the most part the Kriegars make good box openers.
