    Default Unknown Irish razor

Is anyone familiar with a Dublin cutler and razor-maker named Whyte, probably 1850-1900 or thereabouts?

Welcome to SRP, There is a James Whyte, cutler and surgical instrument maker, from an Irish Directory for the Year 1862.

Thanks. I came across a SR marked "Whyte" and "Dublin" and am curious about its history. I didn't know any razors were made in Ireland, but there was a good deal more metal industry there in the late 19th and early 20th century than I suspected.

I've come across a few Irish razors but they are pretty rare. I don't think that there were a large number of razors made in Ireland.

Thanks for the responses. I've purchased the razor through a proxy, and as I soon as I examine it (in a week or two) I will post details for those who may be interested.
