I dry it thoroughly!
I've recently acquired my new dovo, I had about 6/8 shaves with it.
Every time I use it I get a paper towel I dry the blade thoroughly... I like to see it shine, I fold the towel, I slide it through the scales, 2/3 time, I look to see if there is any water left anywhere...... I took it out the other day only to see some very faint marks near the edge!!!
After I dry it I put I back in the tin box that it came in....is this wrong?
Cheers

Thanked: 3225I might suggest leaving it out and open to air dry for awhile before storing it.

To dry the edge, strop it 10 times on linen after drying. Paper towels leave some microscopic water beads that will trick you into thinking it was perfectly dry. Do you store your razor in a dry place (definitely not the bathroom)?

Hmmmmm.....I admit I store it in the tin, in the cupboard, in the bathroom!
I thought paper towels would be the best thing as they are so absorbent!
Thanks for the advice!

I've recently started "stropping" mine on a folded towel, just a three or four swipes, sometimes with Windex sprayed on it, then "stropping" the blade on the reverse side of the folded towel to dry it. Mine only see the bathroom for the ten minutes it takes me to shave with them.

I use a kleenex tissue to wipe mine down following rinsing. Then I strop 20 round trips on leather only. I leave the razor on a counter top outside of the bathroom. I live alone so no worries about anyone else messing with my razors. I don't store razors I use in their boxes. I guess it is alright but I have a funny feeling about it.

You might want to consider desicant (silica gel) to absorb moisture in the tin, it comes free in shoes and beef jerky the 24 hour Tesco will sell it, though not tonight. 24 hours what a lie.
Though not if your razor has wooden scales, was told it dsstroyed a wooden cabinet belonging to onimaru, that was all I found out.Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

Long Island humidity ! This is with the AC on. I get the same "marks" and I leave the razors out a day. Next shave, I'll try stropping. Afterall, what's a little more stropping?
