No, since it is brand new it does need it's first hone. I had him do it for me because I wanted to use it right away but really cause I stink at it! He finished it off with Diamond paste.

I got it from www.shavingshop.com I haven't seen any of these on EBAY that I know of. As far as I can tell and I just used it it seems perfectly fine to me. Straight as an arrow and sharp as hell.
