I cant take suspense. "Necessity is the mother" ...and I figured I'd get this weekend off to a little adventure.

With a table saw and a plywood blade I chopped the base done to just a thin sheet....

May try taking the edges of the plastic off with a table saw, then sanding down the back to just a plastic sheet that I can then glue to something rigid.

I guess I was hoping for some info on what...

I realize there's an outlet that sells thicker SS without a base. But I already have my stone set and love them...except for the freakin' bases. I know I'll have to reglue them to a different base....
