Actually... it also occured to me, on further thought, that if I go big or go home, the inner biowl would be heavier than in a small unit and therefore less likely to move around, so seperate pieces...

I'm still tending towards a one piece unit for several reasons;

1. The thing that appeals to me the most about straight edge shaving is its simple elegance. Its about as basic as you can get....

I did get your PM. I think you were interested in the MF59 Royal Blue. I currently have some MS20 Royal Blue that I wanted to try, so I am going to try that on one of the two above...

I hadn't really given any thought to putting a lid on as I hadn't seen any scuttles with lids but it might be a real good idea!

I realize they don't look much different yet but here they are after the first (bisque) firing. They aren't mud any more, and they didn't explode in the kiln (yay!). It takes about 8 hrs to gently go...
