Yep I got the same admonition. They're nice razors and shave very well but they're no different than some of the other top of the line razors around today. So I didn't see what the big secret was....

Those horn covered tang models are rumored to also have been hand hammered by ol' Pierre himself. I heard that from Joel Ferman. I don't know how true but it seems plausible. I have one myself along...
