It has something to do with the way that llayer releases garnets, the stone itself is hard, it doesn't scratch with effort.

Thanks for the picture! That really is a fast one if there's no slurry on there. One of my coticules is from the la nouvelle vein layer and looks like that after ten half strokes but that's on...

All coticules no matter where you buy them come from the Ardennes Quarry but if you want to get the stones from Maurice directly just go on their site.
