I lapped the stone (no more stamps...oh well) and then lapped it on sandpaper up to 1000grit. I then used a piece of my Ozuku Asagi (it's tomonagura) to finish smoothing the stone surface....

That's correct, I know the risk involved but I like to gamble lol. I actually have three other stones from him that are fine and I haven't had any problems with them. Maybe I am lucky?...
