Yes, it definitely feels like it has some kind of finish on it or something. Very stiff and moving it in the light reveals a very minor gloss in the weave.

Anyone know what the second fabric strop on an Illinois 835 is made out of? It says "fine linen finish" so I assume it is linen, but I've read a few places that most manufacturers call a fabric strop...
