I suppose anything is possible. The baseplate may have been switched out, etc. The prevailing theory seems to be that the razor is a clone. That’s fine as long as it does what it’s supposed to do....

So, I found this logo stamped Gillette photo online (the gold tone) and noticed the similarity with mine as to the country of origin stamp. Similar font and style except for the cartouche thing....

This razor looks like a Gillette old type single ring. There is no Gillette logo on the baseplate which from my research is not unusual for some years of manufacture, and there is no serial number...
