I don't have a slurry stone handy. Is it necessary to utilize the slurry? It seems to cut without the slurry. It put a pretty decent edge after about 12 laps (I think that's how many I did).

Thuringian Usage
I am now the proud owner of a thuringian hone. I don't believe it's an escher, but it's damn smooth.
I lapped the chips out of it (up to 2000 grit) and chamfered it, and I gave my razor a few...
