If you know it has been used by someone else shaving, I would recommend it as an extra precaution. Plus, you don't know what the edge had been exposed to and considering we know straight shaving...

Clean it in the sense of boiling the blade. Sounds like a nice edge is already on it, so you are bringing it back to life - Good Man!

Will it pass a HHT test? Can you hone it and shave with it? You may want to first take the measures to insure its "clean".
