Thanked: 2A "new" razor
I've recently acquired a razor inexpensively through the wondrous invention of the internet. Although I am thrilled with my newest purchase, I cannot identify its provenance. It is fairly old, thus it is worn. The word clearly visible is "Mito" in quotes preceded by a number: 43. To the right of "Mito" is "ex" which may be part of a word or a word in itself. On the reverse is a worn oval stamp with part of the word "Germany" still distinguishable. There is something else, a line drawing I think, in the rest of the oval but it is too badly worn to see.
Has anyone encountered this item? The seller thought it fifty or sixty years in age, but I don't think he's an expert, so it may be more recent than that. However, due to the wear he might be right. Any help in discovering the identity of this mystery piece would be greatly appreciated. I have tried google to no avail. Specifically, I'm after the manufacturer. Is Mito the manufacturer?
If you need a photograph, one can be provided.

More likely, "Mito" is trademark. But, who manufactured this razor, I don't know.Alex Ts.

Thanked: 190Will it pass a HHT test? Can you hone it and shave with it? You may want to first take the measures to insure its "clean".
It looked OK from the picture and thanks for adding them. Who knows who really made it. It could have been made by one of the "big boys" at the time and just sold under a different name.
Have fun with it!

Thanked: 2"Clean" in what way? Excuse me if this is a technical term I should know. It isn't as sharp as it could be but I dare say would benefit a great deal from some TLC. However, it is sharp enough to give a closer shave than Mr. Gillette can offer! Thank you for your help!

Thanked: 190Clean it in the sense of boiling the blade. Sounds like a nice edge is already on it, so you are bringing it back to life - Good Man!
