I watched that auction and i agree that they look very similar...both from the top and the side view. The texture comes through, from the side. My "WOA," was used with oil...which...

When i bought the stone, i figured it was probably a chunk of welch slate...however, it doesnt lap, smell or feel the same as the DT, when honing.
Actually, the stone feels alot like a Dalmore...

Well, i shaved with a straight honed on this stone, last night. The shave wasnt quite as good as i get with my Charnley, but it was still quite passable...that could be inexperience honing with this...
