Honestly, I'm not qualified to answer. I think there are a few that are true wedges. I think many have a slight hollow to them. I also think that there are many that use the "wedge" term loosely....

I don't own one, I only honed one up for someone and I seem to remember thinking it might have been a 1/2 hollow. I don't recall thinking it was mirror polished.
