Were swedish steel models differentialy heat treated? I have tried etch on swedish steel Iwasaki and there was no hamon.

I consider western Iwasaki razors among the top razors ever made.

The scales are from a Kikuboshi, another Japanese brand :)

The prices have been climbing steadily over the past few years no question about it.

Got several NOS Japanese blades this week. The "Dream" has interesting designation on the back of the tang, not sure what it means but I have never seen one like that before.

My newest addition, a Tanifuji Favorit dressed in scales I grabbed from a Kikuboshi. This blade has a massive spine, it will be a sweet shaver.

Tanifuji MAxflistainless. This is the first stainless Tanifuji I have ever seen. It had no hone wear, but I had to clean it up and now it needs to be honed.

NOS Towa Gen. Takahashi , made by H.Diamond, that one should be a spectacular shaver.

I have not seen a reference on those. They are softer steel compared to Tanifuji made razors.

I have seen several of that model it is not rare but less common than others. I also believe it is a later model Kikuboshi.

The stock scales are faux tortoise shell acrylic for the Hoshitombo
