I tried mine after 12k SS,after Escher, after J-nat, after coticule, with few laps with many laps, all the time the edge was subpar to the edge from the other hones.

Based on what others have said and my experience, frankonians definitely vary in quality. The one I have is pretty good for tools and knives so it is still useful.

Mine is definitely not better than Escher, it is in the 8k range.

I do not know why they say that, mine was supposed to be lapped but it was not at all.

you can use DMT for slurry.
Just use with water, but make sure the edge is very good before you jump to it.
