No telling how many drill bits I have smoked from not annealing and the steel getting work hardened. I "mostly" drill immediately after profiling now.

I know from experience that using a brine quench on 1095 you need to leave a bit more material on the blade and remove the material to a thinner blade after HT, I have ruined several feet of steel...
