It is backed with slate that has a wonderful tigers eye effect when wet. Actually, it might be BBW, I don't know what slate or BBW looks like. Mine is very smooth with little red specks throughout....

This one must be magic! I have a three line swaty too.... It seems like I can get a nice mirror finish and slice hairs easy with this one. The swaty doesnt get nearly as close for me.
