After many days of sanding them thinner, I have just put the first coat of Tung oil finish on. Pictures tomorrow after it is dry. Then recoat a few more times, polich and wax, then assemble.

This didn't work either so I went back to the thick ones and thinned them down with a rasp. Still on the very big side for scales but I am working on it....

Picked this off Ebay for $45. The plan is clean the blade, rescale in Plum wood with brass/SS wedge.
