Boker WIP
Picked this off Ebay for $45. The plan is clean the blade, rescale in Plum wood with brass/SS wedge.
Ebay item number: 280454775951 Broken scale with lead wedge.
Outline of scale shape.
Material thickness I ripped myself
Visual aid
Wedge material
Pieces cut
Bonded with Gorilla glue
So now I am off to my friends house because he has a band saw. More to come......

Like that wedge design! I'm glad a few people have more skill and patience at this than I do.

So I did some more work today, got the form cut out after pining them together.
Then took a 4 way and put some shape to it.
Test fit the blade and they are WAY too thick. Traced the outline onto a thinner piece of Plum, cut it to shape then split it in half with a coping saw.
More later.

Sorry about this I moved a bunch of pictures around over in Photobucket. To review.
Layout
The wedge idea is to layer Brass and SS sheets.

The Plum tree wood split in half.
Rough cut to shape
Put some curves on it with 4 way rasp.
These are too thick so I tried again with a new piece of wood.

This didn't work either so I went back to the thick ones and thinned them down with a rasp. Still on the very big side for scales but I am working on it.
