Got the plate superflat and smooth now, took about 5 mins. soaking ma naniwa right now to lap it.

Ah, now I get it, I thought it was like breaking in a new pair of jeans as opposed to actually breaking it :)

Phew, thought I was going to be in a warranty battle for a minute there, I've already shined up one side of a screwdriver, I'll try again with alot more pressure and post back.
