I don't like the idea of the shavette, on a one year hike it would be no better than a gilette in my eyes, Regardless of how well it shaves,...

So basically there are no compact blades suitable...Bummer
Guess my travel kit will be twice the size I want for the moment.

This is one of my primary reasons for wanting to shave with straights to be honest so I can go on extended trips with no worries about shaving, I like being clean shaven, even in winter.
