Have you ever used Acetone? While I've never used it on plastic or horn scales all other projects were very easily and as far as I can tell totally degreased.

While you will need to de-grease very well you might consider this instead of the epoxy. :shrug:

I haven't had a chance to try it but I'm really looking forward to trying it.
