I had shaved on it unrestored (honed up myself a couple of weeks ago). It shaves very nicely although i think it needs a more experienced honer to get a better edge with the right tools.

thanks, i started with some 60 grit for some of the bad pitting ending up with deep scratches, and then moved to 220, 500,800,1000,1200,1500,2000 followed by mag polish...
