I had the same thing happen. The last one I bought was suppose to be 5/8 but it was smaller then my other two. I never measured them, just guested and never really compared them to my other 5/8

I have three Hess 44's with the cracked ice scales and they are a very nice razor. One of my favorites to shave with. I never did any research on them, I just like'em. I'd be interested in any info....
