nope not a knot. Placed it in a PVC pipe and gave it some taps on the table to get the ends even. Loaded the handle with epoxy, grabbed the hair bundle with the other hand and made a mess....

I used Danish oil on the base of the handle and polished the antler only. I figured in use it will never see water so why bother sealing thing's...
