It was between $20-30, i just picked the best one i could find. i guess it really does serve the purpose for my knives. now i've got a 16" plank for my knives, i guess.

heh yeah. finished gluing the strop to the plank. not nearly smooth enough for a razor, though it grabs well.

screw it, i'm going to buy a strop i think. i had to drive 45 minutes for that flank...

they're pretty deep creases...

would that damage the edge? or just not perform as well as a smooth strop?

i can definitely feel them with my fingers. so are razor strops just chosen out of better leather?

or are they flattened out somehow???

the two nicks were when i was beginning. Also, i was spazzing out trying to get a good edge at 1am, and my motor skills weren't what they are during waking hours.

i'll have to figure out rivets too. But it'll probably still end up like the rup-razor, if not longer. i'd just have to mark out a smooth strip in the flank. leather...

I've never used those strops for my razors. they're all nicked up from learning to strop my knives, and when i attempted to polish a 8" kukri.

i'm not sure how a home made hanging strop will turn...
