This is somewhere at I believe 1400grit which is at about where I will leave it. I like the minor pitting....err character! :)

So far so good. This is the 7/8 W&B next to the 4/8 Baby Butcher after going up to 800 grit wet/dry by hand. The 7/8 has some deeper pitting towards the barbers notch but I think I can look past that...
