You can do it.If properly sleeved you do not need double washers,one thrust washer on each side will work fine.
using any more than that is not the right way to scale a razor,JMO

Are many ways to do this,what I do is drill the pivot so I have a perfect hole,cut the tubing a hair oversize,peen it into the pivot hole,than use a carbide burr to finish the edges....
