Yes, I do hone with the scales about 180°. Otherwise, I find that the balance is not good.

I have shaved with a razor honed by Larry over at Whipped Dog. The razor I got from him shaved a bit better than mine did.

The razor that I've sharpened myself (my first one: a Dovo Best Quality)...
