I shaved with an 8k Norton edge again this morning, and again it was just great, it never fails... :)

Yeah it's been really fun, and not only an eyeopener to how great an 8k edge can shave, but I've also gained a new and very useful hone.

Ben, I agree about the coti feel, the Norton sure finishes quite smooth.

My shave for today was using the Gotta, tried lapping the 8k side with a 8k Shapton until I had some good suction going on...

Ok. I'm bored, the Gotta and Globusmen both delivers great Norton shaves day out and day in, so I invited a Japanese friend along to the Norton party.

Ooook, back on track. Had to to a quick shave today, so I grabbed the Gotta which had a nice Thuri edge yesterday, which I took down to 8k again.
Sure the thuri edge is nicer, but the difference is...

Uh I meant tomorrow, I got a nice old Thuri in the mail yesterday, and I just NEED to try anything new right away, I do not have the patience to wait a couple weeks! :o:p

Will be back on track tomorrow. Birnando gave me a Filarmonica EBPD to try out at the meetup yesterday, so I have to give it a try today... :)

After shaving off the Norton every day for two weeks, I revisited a nice 30k edge using my FON Golden Star, just to check how it felt after getting used to the Norton.

And it sure was nicer, no...

For the record, the Gotta delivered a nice shave today as well. :)

It's not dry, you just do one swipe with a finger, so there's a bit of water left. When finished the hone is damp. It's something Glen does in his videos. :)

This mornings (Sunday) shave with my Gotta was awesome as well, 4th shave with it I think.
Redid the Globusmen per Glens JaNorton video for tomorrows shave, will update then. :)

Another fine shave. Didn't feel like the lather finishing did anything. But worth the try . :)

Glen, I can already say if I had to, I'd be super happy with a couple hollow ground razors and the Norton for the rest of my life.... It's that good.

Todays shave with the Globusmen I honed last night was excellent as predicted.:tu

Decided to replace the BB with a different razor, don't want to wear down a custom 8/8 to a 2/8... :D

So I grabbed the 13/16 Globusmen.
Killed the edge on my scuttle, soaked the Norton for 10...

Started with the Brian Brown again, but no go still, it's so weird, it's easy on the Shaptons but it doesn't seem to like the Norton :(
I'll try a couple times more before I replace it with...

Even the 30k cuts fast :)

Used the Brian Brown today. It's still not as smooth as the Gotta, so it needs more work, but a decent shave still. :)

Hehe, after this month the second part of Norton fun comes in, trying out various ways to bring the edge even further!
