I figured it was the steel although i may keep an eye out to see if i can find something like this related to the stones rather then the steel, do you believe some of the stones have a high acidic...

Lick the stone, see if it burns or tastes bitter.. science at its best :P

I've noticed after using some stones my blade can rust within an hour after if not treated correctly but never put it down...

Defiantly not all stones, but the evidence would suggest it's less likely to damage a Jnat then what the theories were 2 years ago :p

But what I can say for sure is, there has been no negative...

I have heard its not good for synthetics so I wont use it on my synthetics ( unless it a barbers hone :p ). It does make sense that synthetic hones could be damaged by soaps as they are...

Just tried another blade tonight, finishing with a lather and i got the same results, mirror finish on the bevel and spine and the shave of this blade was one of my best shaves ever!

They actually give a mirror finish but they take a lot to get there, I only have two like this out of my 17

The stone i tested the lather on genegrly starts releasing its particles fairly quickly...

All mine behave differently, some stick no matter how long I hone on it and others release some of the stone and eventually stop sticking..

I'm finding that, the harder the stone the more it takes...

Its not a stone I generally finish on, or that I generally use.. But the edge I got off it visably a lot better and the razor I used on it did give a comfortable shave.
