I do believe that bone came from you. The more I sanded it the whiter it got. Almost looks acrylic.

This blade had a ton of rust and pitting which required a lot of sanding in the bevel area, toe and heel.
As I worked I noticed the blade was quite sharp and getting sharper. It is best to imagine...
